Showers and Rising Heat for South Florida

April 23, 2026

South Florida will experience cloudy conditions and a high of 82°F on Thursday before rain chances increase through Sunday.

Thursday features a seasonably cool morning on the mainland, followed by more clouds than sun and a few afternoon showers, with a gusty East Coast breeze.  The Gulf coast will see mostly sunny skies with some afternoon showers, and the Keys will see plenty of clouds with a few showers in spots.  A high risk of dangerous rip currents remains at the Atlantic beaches into Friday.  Thursday’s highs will be in the upper 70s right at the Atlantic coast and in the low 80s elsewhere in South Florida.

Friday will bring morning lows in the mid to upper 60s on the mainland.  Then look for a mix of sun, clouds, some morning showers, and a few afternoon storms in the East Coast.  The Gulf Coast will see sunny skies until a few afternoon storms pop up.  Look for clouds and showers in the Keys.  Expect a high risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches.  Friday’s highs will be in the low 80s in the East Coast and the Keys and in the mid-80s along the Gulf Coast.

Saturday will feature morning lows mostly in the upper 60s on the mainland, followed by lots of sun around South Florida.  But we can’t rule out a stray storm in the East Coast.  Saturday’s highs will be in the mid-80s on the mainland and the low-80s in the Keys.

Sunday will see lots of sun and maybe a cloud or two.  Sunday’s highs will be in the mid-80s on the mainland and the low-80s in the Keys.

Monday’s forecast calls for another sunny day around South Florida.  Highs on Monday will be in the mid-80s on the mainland and the low-80s in the Keys.
