South Florida Braces for Stormy Weekend and Hazardous Coastal Conditions

Saturday features lots of sun and a few clouds for most of the day, followed by some showers in spots during the mid to late afternoon.  Look for some evening showers and storms on the mainland as a front approaches.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents along the Palm Beach County coast.  Saturday’s highs will be in the low 80s right at the Atlantic coast and in the Keys, while the rest of South Florida will reach the mid 80s.

Sunday will bring morning lows in the upper 60s to low 70s.  The day will be breezy with more clouds than sun on the mainland.  The East Coast metro area will see periods of showers and storms, while the Gulf Coast will see morning showers and some afternoon storms.  The Keys will see a building breeze, plenty of sun, a few clouds, and the chance of a shower or two.  Expect an increasing risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches.  Sunday’s highs will be in the upper 70s on the East Coast and in the low 80s along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.

Monday will feature morning lows in the mid 60s to near 70 degrees on the mainland.  Then look for mostly sunny skies, with some showers mostly in the afternoon, on the mainland.  The Keys will see plenty of sun.  Monday’s highs will be in the low 80s in the East Coast and the Keys, and mostly in the mid-80s along the Gulf Coast.

Tuesday will be a mostly sunny late March day around South Florida, but we can’t rule out a stray afternoon shower near the Gulf coast.  Tuesday’s highs will be in the low 80s in the East Coast and the Keys and the mid-80s along the Gulf Coast.

Wednesday’s forecast calls for plenty of clouds and periods of showers throughout South Florida.  Highs on Wednesday will be in the low 80s in the East Coast and the Keys and the mid-80s along the Gulf Coast.
