South Florida Storm Risks Rise This Weekend After Sunny Friday Start

May 29, 2026

Sun gives way to afternoon storms Friday before a wet, cloudy weekend brings widespread showers across South Florida.

Friday features a mostly sunny morning on the mainland, but showers and storms are likely in the afternoon, with much of the activity in the East Coast metro area.  The Keys will see some sun, plenty of clouds, and a few storms.  Friday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.

Saturday will bring clouds, showers, and storms around South Florida.  Saturday’s highs will be mostly in the upper 80s, with a few inland locations reaching the 90-degree mark.

Sunday will feature plenty of clouds with morning showers and afternoon storms on the mainland.  The Keys will be mostly cloudy with a few showers and storms.  Sunday’s highs will be mostly in the low 80s.

Monday will see a mix of sun and clouds with periods of showers and storms on the mainland.  Look for more clouds than sun and a few showers and storms in the Keys.  Monday’s highs will be mostly in the upper 80s, with a few locations topping out near 90 degrees.

Tuesday’s forecast calls for some sun, plenty of clouds, and periods of showers and storms again on the mainland.  The Keys will see lots of clouds, with a chance of a shower or storm.  Highs on Tuesday will be in the upper 80s.
