Sunshine and Seasonal Warmth Return with a Smoky Twist

February 26, 2026

Mild mornings and sunny skies prevail, though smoke from a major fire and rip currents require extra caution.

Thursday features milder morning lows in the mid 50s to the low 60s on the mainland, followed by mostly sunny skies in the east coast metro area and lots of sun along the Gulf coast and in the Keys — but portions of the Gulf Coast and interior will see smoke from a major fire south of Alligator Alley.  A high risk of dangerous rip currents continues along the Palm Beach County coast.  Thursday’s highs will be in the upper 70s right at the Atlantic coast and in the Keys, while the rest of South Florida will top out in the low 80s.

Friday will bring seasonable morning lows in the mid to upper 60s.  Then look for mostly sunny skies and a few afternoon showers along the Gulf coast, while the east coast metro area will see a mix of sun, clouds, morning showers, and a few afternoon storms.  The Keys will see good sun and some clouds.  Friday’s highs will be mostly in the low 80s on the mainland and near 80 degrees in the Keys.

Saturday will feature morning lows in the seasonable mid to upper 60s on the mainland.  The day will see more clouds than sun and periods of showers on the mainland.  The Keys will see a mix of sun and clouds with a few showers in spots.  Saturday’s highs will be in the low 80s in the East Coast metro area and near 80 degrees along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.

Sunday will begin with lows again in the mid to upper 60s.  Then look for mostly sunny skies and some afternoon showers in the East Coast metro area, and more clouds than sun and some afternoon showers along the Gulf Coast.  The Keys will see good sun, a few clouds, and maybe a shower in spots.  Sunday’s highs will be mostly in the low 80s.

Monday’s forecast calls for another seasonably mild morning, followed by good sun, a few clouds, and a few showers in spots in the east coast metro area and lots of sun along the Gulf coast and in the Keys.  Highs on Monday will be mostly in the low 80s.
