If you always have frozen blueberries on hand, you may want to check your freezer—some might be contaminated with E. coli.
Publix recently pulled certain bags of frozen organic blueberries in eight states after the berries were linked to an E. coli outbreak. So far, 12 people have gotten sick with a stomach illness after eating the blueberries.

What You Should Do
If the recalled frozen blueberries are in your freezer, don’t eat them. Throw them out or return them to Publix for a full refund. You can also contact Frutas y Hortalizas del Sur S.A., the product’s manufacturer, through the information provided on the FDA’s website.
If you think you’ve eaten affected berries, monitor for symptoms of E. coli. The illness can show up as severe stomach cramps, possibly bloody diarrhea, and vomiting within a few days of eating contaminated food.
