Unsettled Weather Ahead as Frontal Systems Stall and Cool Temperatures Approach South Florida

Expect periods of rain and dangerous rip currents this weekend before a midweek cooling trend brings mid-70s temperatures.

Saturday features more clouds than sun and periods of showers in the East Coast metro area as a front stalls out over our area.  The Gulf coast will see a mix of sun, clouds, and showers, while the Keys will see plenty of clouds and periods of showers and storms.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches this weekend.  Saturday’s highs will be in the low 80s right at the Atlantic coast and in the Keys, with the rest of South Florida reaching the mid 80s.

Sunday will bring plenty of clouds and a gusty breeze to the mainland.  The East Coast metro area will see showers and storms, while the Gulf Coast will see periods of showers.  Look for clouds, showers, and a few storms in the Keys.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches.  Sunday’s highs will be in the low 80s.

Monday will feature more clouds than sun, with periods of showers, under a gusty breeze in the East Coast metro area.  The Gulf Coast will be breezy with a mix of clouds and showers as another front moves in.  The Keys can expect good sun.  Monday’s highs will be mostly in the mid-80s on the mainland and in the low-80s in the Keys.

Tuesday morning will be cool, with lows in the low to mid 60s on the mainland.  The day will be cloudy with periods of showers and storms.  Look for breezy conditions near the Gulf Coast and a brisk, gusty breeze in the East Coast metro area.  Tuesday’s highs will be in the mid-70s in the East Coast metro area and the Keys and the low-70s along the Gulf Coast.

Wednesday’s forecast calls for some sun, plenty of clouds, and periods of showers and storms.  Highs on Wednesday will be in the low 70s in the East Coast metro area and the Keys and in the mid 70s along the Gulf Coast.
