Florida Heat Advisory Issued
NewsThe National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory for all of mainland South Florida, starting at 12 noon on Thursday and lasting until 7 pm. “Feels like” temperatures of 105 to 110 degrees are expected. This poses a threat of serious heat-related illness. While there is no formal heat advisory issued for the Keys, “feels like” temperatures there could reach 105 degrees, especially in the Upper Keys. Be sure to stay hydrated and avoid outside activities. Stay in an air-conditioned space if possible. The heat advisory compounds the health risks posed by smoke from wildfires just west of the Miami-Dade metro area.
