South Florida Faces Flooding and Rip Current Risks Before a Breezy, Sun-Drenched Weekend Warm-Up Arrives

Thursday features gusty breezes, lots of clouds, and plenty of showers around South Florida as a front lingers.  Additional rainfall could lead to flooding in portions of the East Coast.  A high risk of dangerous rip currents continues at the Atlantic beaches through at least Friday evening.  Thursday’s highs will be in the upper 70s right at the Atlantic coast and in the low 80s elsewhere in South Florida.

Friday will bring gusty breezes to South Florida once again.  The mainland will see a mix of sun, clouds, and a few afternoon showers, while the Keys will see more clouds than sun and a few showers.  A high risk of dangerous rip currents will remain at the Atlantic beaches.  Friday’s highs will be near 80 degrees in the East Coast and the Keys, and mostly in the mid-80s along the Gulf Coast.

Saturday will feature mostly sunny skies and a gusty breeze in the East Coast, and lots of sun and a gusty breeze along the Gulf Coast.  Look for more clouds than sun, a gusty breeze, and a few showers in the Keys.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches.  Saturday’s highs will be near 80 degrees in the East Coast and the Keys, and in the mid-80s along the Gulf Coast.

Sunday will be another day of gusty breezes around South Florida.  The East Coast and the Keys will be mostly sunny, and the Gulf Coast will see sunny skies.  Sunday’s highs will be near 80 degrees on the East Coast and the Keys and in the mid-80s along the Gulf Coast.

Monday’s forecast calls for good sun and a few clouds around South Florida.  Highs on Monday will be in the low 80s on the East Coast and the Keys and in the mid 80s along the Gulf Coast.
