South Florida Weather: Cool Front Brings Dramatic Temperature Shift

Sunday features a mild morning with some early fog on the mainland. Then look for breezy conditions, a mix of sun and clouds on the mainland, and afternoon showers as a front moves through. The Keys will see plenty of sun, a few clouds, and maybe a stray shower. Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents at the Gulf and Atlantic beaches. Sunday’s highs will be mostly in the mid-80s on the East Coast, but some suburban locations could reach the upper 80s. Look for highs in the upper 70s along the Gulf coast and in the Keys.

Monday will bring morning lows in the chilly mid- to upper 40s on the mainland and the mid-50s in the Keys. The day will be sunny, breezy, and very cool. Expect a high risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches. Monday’s highs will be in the mid-60s on the East Coast and in the low-60s along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.

Tuesday will feature another chilly morning, with lows in the low to mid-40s on the mainland. Then look for sunny skies around South Florida, but not much of a warmup. Tuesday’s highs will be in the mid 60s.

Wednesday morning will be chilly again, with lows in the mid to upper 40s on the mainland. The day will be sunny as a slow warmup begins. Wednesday’s highs will be in the low to mid 70s in the East Coast metro area and the Keys and near 70 degrees along the Gulf Coast.

Thursday’s forecast calls for morning lows in the mid to upper 50s on the mainland, followed by mostly sunny skies in the East Coast metro area and lots of sun along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys. Highs on Thursday will be mostly in the upper 70s in the East Coast metro area and in the mid 70s along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.
