South Florida Faces Scorching Mainland Heat and Afternoon Storms While Tropics Monitor Distant Gulf Disturbance

Monday features mostly sunny skies, with periods of showers and storms in the East Coast metro area during the afternoon.  The Gulf Coast and the Keys will see hot sun and a few clouds.  Minor coastal flooding is possible along the Gulf coast during high tides.  Monday’s highs will be in the low 90s in the East Coast metro area (with a few suburban locations reaching the mid 90s) and near 90 degrees along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.  But it will feel like the triple digits on the mainland, so be sure to stay hydrated and out of the sun.

Tuesday will bring a mix of sun, clouds, and afternoon showers and storms to the East Coast metro area, while the Gulf Coast and the Keys will see sunny skies.  Tuesday’s highs will be mostly in the low 90s in the East Coast metro area and near 90 degrees along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.

Wednesday will feature lots of sun around South Florida, but the east coast metro area can also expect an afternoon shower or storm in spots.  Wednesday’s highs will be mostly in the low 90s.

Thursday will be a mostly sunny day on the mainland, but look for an afternoon shower or storm in spots.  The Keys will see good sun and a few clouds.  Thursday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

The forecast for Juneteenth calls for good sun, some clouds, and a few afternoon showers and storms on the mainland.  The Keys will see mostly sunny skies.  Highs on Friday will be in the low 90s.

In the tropics, an area of disorganized showers and storms near eastern Mexico could develop into a low as it interacts with a front near Texas on Tuesday.  This feature has a low chance of becoming a depression.
