South Florida Weather: Storms Target East Coast While Keys Stay Mainly Cloudy

Sunday features mostly sunny skies in the morning and plenty of afternoon showers and storms in the East Coast metro area.  Heavy rain is possible. The Gulf Coast will see hot sun, some clouds at times, and maybe a stray shower or storm, while the Keys will see more clouds than sun and a stray storm in spots.  Sunday’s highs will be in the low 90s on the mainland and the upper 80s in the Keys — but it will feel hotter around South Florida, so be sure to stay hydrated.

Monday will bring lots of clouds with periods of showers and storms around South Florida.  The bulk of the showers and storms will be in the East Coast metro area, and heavy rain is possible.  Monday’s highs will be mostly in the low 90s in the East Coast metro area and in the upper 80s around the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.

Tuesday will feature plenty of clouds on the mainland, as well as periods of showers and storms.  Most of the showers and storms will again be in the East Coast metro area.  The Keys will see more clouds than sun and a few showers and storms in spots.  Tuesday’s highs will be near 90 degrees in the East Coast metro area and in the upper 80s along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.

Wednesday will be another cloudy day around South Florida.  Look for periods of showers and storms, especially in the East Coast metro area.  Wednesday’s highs will be in the upper 80s.

Thursday’s forecast calls for mostly cloudy skies and periods of showers and storms in the East Coast metro area.  The Gulf Coast will see some sun, more clouds, and some showers and storms.  Highs on Thursday will be mostly in the mid-80s on the mainland and in the upper-80s in the Keys.
